Course Preparation

Welcome to your EZ Boating course preparation. It’s important you familiarise yourself with the below information that includes:

  • Start and end times
  • Checklist of what to bring
  • Venue obligations

This checklist is provided to help you prepare for your course. Please bring these items with you for your training.

You may also bring a notepad for taking notes during the classroom portion, which can aid your learning.

However, please note that the exam is closed book, and notes cannot be used during the test. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out via email or phone.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Boat courses generally start between 7am-8am. We will send you a confirmation email and SMS closer to your course date to confirm start time on the day.

Most venues will have the practical on water experience occurring at the beginning of the day. However, some venues require us to do the theory component first. You will receive a checklist after making payment for your booking to ensure you are prepared for your on-water experience.

The checklist also includes ID requirements and under 16 parental consent forms that are required for your application.

Be sure to bring your Passport photos if you are doing a PWC course.

After finishing the practical on water experience, you are required to make your own way to the venue where the theory course will be conducted and you will sit the course with our expert trainers.

You can pack your own lunch or buy something to eat during your lunch break. At the end of the course, you will sit an online test (sometimes paper if system is down).

When you complete your test succesffully, you will get your paperwork to present to Service NSW for a NSW boat licence.

Hooray! You’re all done with our one-day Boat licence course. If you have booked for a PWC course you will have extra training at the end of the day with another quick test.

We expect most students to be finished by 5pm-6pm. But you will need to allow room to start earlier and finish later to factor in class size and weather conditions.

Be sure to know where the practical location for your course will take place and where the theory location for your course will be. You will need to make your own way to and from the venue locations. You can familiarise yourself with our venue locations here

You are required to adhere to venue requirements upon entering. This includes dress code and sign in requirements at licensed venues.
